Rob received his B.S. Biological Sciences degree from Clemson University in 1991 followed by a B.S. Pharmacy degree from MUSC College Of Pharmacy in Charleston, SC.  He began his pharmacy work first as a volunteer student intern at MUSC Children’s Hospital the summer of 1991 when no such jobs were available. This move led to a paid intern position and eventually a position as a staff pharmacist upon graduation in 1994.  Staying with hospital pharmacy, Woods moved to Augusta, Georgia to take a pharmacist position at The Medical College of Georgia Hospitals and Clinics (now Georgia Regents University.)  Working in all areas of the pharmacy, he eventually specialized in pharmacy information systems and automation.  Following his work at MCG/GRU, Woods has worked hospital pharmacy, opened and supervised an in-house retail pharmacy for a hospital, and a grocery store chain.

Woods saw a strategic need for pharmacist professional services with the launch of Ambulatory Surgery Centers in 1999.  He began his pharmacist consulting business to assist Ambulatory Surgery Centers and Emergency Service Providers with all aspects of pharmacy operations and services – start-up, policies and procedures, compliance with Board of Pharmacy and DEA rules and regulations, accreditation standards, and regular oversight through site visits.

Keeping a full-time pharmacy position while consulting, Rob joined Prime Care Infusion Services in 2001 as a clinical infusion pharmacist.  With the acquisition by Home Choice Partners in 2004, he was promoted to General Manager of two locations and Director of Pharmacy for the Augusta location.  With this new position, Rob was able to assist with the opening of an Atlanta location as well as transition the merger of another infusion company with the new upstate South Carolina location for Home Choice Partners. In 2006, Woods began full time pharmacy consulting and business acquisitions while completing his Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy in 2007.

He continues to provide professional pharmacy and business services to community pharmacies, physician practices, infusion centers and pharmacies, emergency service providers, FQHC’s, and 340b contract pharmacies.  He has performed and participated in DEA and Board of Pharmacy audits, CMS Medicare Part D Plan audits of PBMs and major Insurance Carriers, CMS Medicare Ambulatory Surgery Center inspections, and accreditation surveys for several practice settings. Most recently, Rob has participated as a consultant for responses to 340b Manufacturer audits and 340b OPA audits.  Whether starting up an FQHC in-house pharmacy or creating FQHC and community pharmacy FQHC 340b contract pharmacy arrangements with oversight, Legacy Pharmacy Solutions is like-minded with the mission and purposes of FQHC’s to partner with communities to provide comprehensive health care and pharmacy services to underserved areas..

Joe graduated from the University of Georgia School of Pharmacy in March of 1980 and began his pharmacy career as a pharmacist for Revco Drugs.  After practicing in the retail setting for 10 years, he took a position with Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta, GA as a staff pharmacist.  It was there that he developed a keen interest in intravenous medications and admixtures.  Just a year after he began work at Doctor’s Hospital he was afforded an opportunity to open an office for a national home infusion company.  It was in this arena that he found his passion for pharmacy and business.  In 1993 he opened Augusta’s first ambulatory infusion center, PrimeCare Infusion.  A short 2 years later, he acquired ownership of the business and grew it significantly by expanding infusion services to Macon and Atlanta, GA.  In 2004, PrimeCare was purchased by HomeChoice Partners, Inc. Joe became Vice President of Sales and later Vice President of Business Development.  In this position he helped HomeChoice expand their footprint throughout the Southeast in evaluating infusion businesses for purchase and in start-up operations of new offices.

In 2013, Joe and Rob started Legacy Pharmacy Solutions in an effort to lend their clinical and business expertise to other healthcare businesses in an effort to develop a “legacy” of entrepreneur-spirited relationships and to participate in the ever-changing healthcare environment.  “I’ve never been more excited about the business of healthcare and our ability to help different healthcare providers navigate the waters of healthcare reform”, states Boyd.
